L'RITUEL

We spend so much of our lives rushing from one thing to the next that it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves along the way.
I love small rituals because they give us a reason to slow down and come back to our bodies. It doesn’t have to be complicated or take half an hour.
Sometimes it’s simply a few minutes of deliberately caring for yourself and noticing how you feel. Those tiny moments matter. They can remind your nervous system that you’re safe enough to soften, and remind you that you’re a person worth tending to, not just another thing on your to-do list.
Rituals are how we stay on our own side.

The transition from a busy day to sleep matters. Before getting into bed, give your nervous system a chance to slow down rather than carrying the stimulation of the day with you.
One simple way to create this transition is through slow, intentional self-massage.
After a shower or as part of your evening routine, warm a small amount of massage oil between your hands. Take a few slow breaths, then gently massage your:
• Feet — slow strokes through the soles and heels.
• Hands — massage the palms, fingers and base of the thumbs.
• Shoulders and neck — use gentle circular movements to soften areas holding tension.
Keep your movements slow and your pressure comfortable. Rather than trying to “fix” anything, simply notice how your body feels.
Even 5 minutes of mindful touch can become a beautiful cue to pause, reconnect with your body and prepare for rest.
